Salary: Negotiable, depending on skill and experience (3-6 years of post-graduate experience, ideally RPEQ or actively approaching, with 5+ years of experience).
The primary responsibility of this role will be to assist in the design and management of multiple structural engineering projects in a manner that aligns with Westera values and current industry regulations. Mentoring is encouraged within and across projects and multidisciplinary teams as relevant and supports the development of internal and external working relationships with key clients, architects, government authorities, and support services. It is hoped our developing professionals will love finding excellent, innovative solutions for our valued clients and seeing their work come to fruition as they learn from some of the best in the business. About you
This is a development role where the ideal candidate will have 5+ years of relevant work experience, RPEQ/CPEng or actively working towards, and a keen interest in growing their experience base in structural engineering. You will have a minimum four-year degree in engineering and your work experience should allow you to demonstrate an understanding of all basic structural engineering principles and materials, and a good base knowledge of structural design and applicable standards and codes to build from. You will have good computer skills and ideally have familiarity with AutoCAD, Hyne Timber Design, and working experience with SPACE GAS, Strand7, and Inducta Suite design software.
You should have a personable approach, sound communication skills, and a keen interest in learning from the exceptional talent around you. Your time management skills will assist your ability to contribute to multiple projects simultaneously and achieve tight deadlines. In summary, you should be dedicated, efficient, motivated, proactive, and enthusiastic in delivering compliant, quality solutions for our clients.
